He is survived by: his wife Levell Ferrell Helton of Covington; his children, Anthony Helton (Andrea) of Delmar, James Helton, Jr. (Georgette) of Roanoke, Troy Helton (JoAnn) of Warm Springs and Tonie Bowins of Hampton; his brothers, Kenneth Helton (Juanita) of Covington and Calvin Helton (Vernon) of Tuson, Arizona; his sister-in-law Joleen Helton of Baltimore; and his cousin Jerry Johnson of Richmond. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
