He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Dorothy Kirk Snyder; his son Gene N. Snyder, Jr.; and his siblings, Donald R. Snyder (Barbara), Armilda Bradley (Chuck) and Juanita Rose.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Humphreys Snyder; his son John "Andy" Snyder (Carolyn); his grandson Andrew M. Snyder; and his sister Betty Rogers (Bob) of Covington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the First Christian Church, 231 E. Fudge St., Covington, VA 24426.
