It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Brinkley (Covington, Virginia), who passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Porter James Brinkley and Katie Mae Brinkley (Walton); his spouse Jean Poe of Durham; his son James London Brinkley (Marilyn Teresa Brinkley); his granddaughters, Kristen Marie Brinkley and Sara Elizabeth McWhorter (Rustin McWhorter); his great grandchild Willa Ann McWhorter; his granddaughter Katherine Ann Cleland (Jake Cleland); his great grandchildren, Jack Allen Cleland and Luke Allen Cleland; his grandchild Erin London Brinkley; his son Charles Eugene Brinkley (Sharon VonCannon Brinkley); his granddaughter Carol Brinkley Martin (Josh Allen Martin); his great grandchildren, Ruth Adeline Martin and Remi Afton Martin; his granddaughter Rachel Caroline Brinkley; his son Christopher William Brinkley; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne Brinkley and William Porter Brinkley; and also Shelley Jeannette Brinkley. He was also cherished by his wife and three sons.
