It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Woodrow Wilson of Courtland, Virginia, born in Gates, North Carolina, who passed away on June 23, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his brother Ray Coy Wilson (Rosalene Howell Wilson); his nephew Johnny Wilson; his great-nephew Kenneth Ray Wilson; his sisters, Helen Rebecca Wilson Taylor (Maywood) and Mary Sue Wilson Baker (Foy); his niece Carolyn Baker; his sister Elsie Lee Wilson White (Sanford); his niece Sandra Hicks (George); his siblings, James Grant Wilson (Marjorie Gomer Wilson), John Coleman Wilson and Margaret Wilson Smither (Stewart); his close friend Pastor Bill McCarron; and also, Winston Robertson, Ronald Coleman Wilson and Edward Stewart Smithers, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, John Branton Wilson (Karen) and Lisa Wilson Crum (Rock); his grandson Jonathan Andrew Wilson (Lindsay); and his great grandchildren, Deacon Kash Wilson and Wade Everette Wilson. He is also survived by other family members; his church family; and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30PM Thursday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Courtland Baptist Church, P. O. Box 148, Courtland, VA 23837. wrightfuneralhome.org.
