He was predeceased by : his parents, Howell Derwood Jones and Rachel Griffin Jones; his wife Lessie Battle Jones; his daughter Kelly Rae Jones Carthen; and his brother Derwood Jones.

He is survived by : his daughter Courtney Jones Wood (Jamie); his sister Carol J. Brock (Grant); his grandchildren, Kimberly Wood, Jason Warrick, Vivian Wood, Morgan Wood and Will Carthen, III; his great grandchild Ariella Delhanty; and his close friends, Dewayne and Deborah Lambert.
