He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Emmett Paul Pope and Doris Harrup Pope; his wife Anne Forrest Pope; his daughter Anne Pope Evans; his sisters, Roselyn Martin and Alisa Starling (Joe); his grandchildren, Haley Nichole Adams, Meredith Leigh Evans and Bryleigh Adams; his great grandchild Audrey Paige; his son-in-law Dean Adams (Leslie); his nephews, Dale Martin (Pam) and Ricky Forrest; and his close friends, Nancy and Jerry Hewett.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
