He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Vaughan and Martha Lankford Vaughan; and his siblings, Jean Hicks and Richard Lee Vaughan. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Bateman Vaughan; his children, Dianne Guse (Steve) of Williamsburg, Donna Howell (David) of Courtland, VA, Dean Vaughan (Babbi Slack) of Berlin, MD and Doug Vaughan (Carla) of Murrells Inlet, SC; his stepdaughters, Pamela Mihovch (C. C.) of Wanchese, NC and Susan Johnson of Winterhaven, FL; his siblings, Peggy Holland (Frank) of Suffolk and Carl Vaughan (Ann) of Brentwood, TN; and his pets, Sir Tesla and Prissy. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday in Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Southampton County Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 70, Courtland, VA 23837.
