It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Dickerson Edwards (Courtland, Virginia), born in Emporia, Virginia, who passed away on August 3, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Richard Moss Dickerson and Emily Thornton Dickerson; and her sisters, Linda D. Raiford and Jeannie D. Fuller. She is survived by : her husband James Linwood Edwards; her sons, Richard William "Rich" Edwards (Barbara) of Virginia Beach and Jason Bryce Edwards (Melissa) of Houston, TX; her sister Peggy Bass of Courtland; her grandchildren, Christian Thomas Edwards, Cole Richard Edwards and Bryce Hilton Edwards; and her nieces and nephews, Christy Wilson, Lori Edwards, Sam Bass, Mel Bass and Ed Atkins.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Courtland Baptist Church.
