He was predeceased by: his parent John Walter Shupe. He is survived by: his parent Gladys Gae DeBusk Shupe; his spouse Maureen "Mo" Powers; his children, Tiffany Tweedy (Devon) of Concord and Tommy Shupe (Angie) of Standardsville; and his grandchildren, Cayce Clifton, Colton Shupe and Katelyn Shupe.

In lieu of flowers memorials may take the form of contributions to the Shrine Hospitals Transportation Fund of Kazim Shriners, 628 W. Campbell Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24016.
