She was predeceased by: her husband James Edward "Jimmy" Vassar. She is survived by: her son James E. "Duke" Vassar, Jr. (Allen Hamilton) of Concord; her brother Horace N. Knight, III (JoAnne) of Madison Heights; her granddaughters, Tiffany Baker (William) of Concord, Amanda Daniel of Appomattox, Shana Biggs (Grant) of Appomattox, Heather Johnson (Clint Clements) of Appomattox and Hailey Johnson of Appomattox; and her great grandchildren, Michael Daniel, Shayne Johnson, Alyssa Daniel, Landon Johnson and Tripp Sperry. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
