He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Kent Kershner Sr. and Rebecca L. Kershner; and his brother Ricky Kershner. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca T. Kershner; his children, William Kershner (Jenni), Jeff Torrence (Markieta), Jennifer Southall and Jessica Barbour (Wayne); his siblings, Donnie Price (Jewel), Dale Kershner, Doug Kershner and Norma Snowden (Mark); his grandchildren, Cody, Lily, Khloe, Greyson and Braelyn; and his pet Cas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 2571 Carter St, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
