She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Franklin Burks, Sr. and Rachael Michaels Burks; and her son John Glen Lankford. She is survived by: her children, Kathy Stratton (Mark), Peggy J. Lankford and Marvin R. Lankford (Jane); her sister Lorraine Gunter; her grandchildren, Dora Christophel, Marvin Lankford, Jr. and Taylor Stratton (Briana); her great grandchildren, Asher Stratton and Lacie Stratton; and her friend Laurie Robertson.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Indian Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery (1683 Oxford Furnace Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24504).
