He is survived by: his wife Debbie Calohan Cardwell; his children, Kristy Cardwell Campbell (Richie) of Elon, Jennifer Lynn Cardwell, Kenny Murrell of Lynchburg, David Cardwell, Jr. (Lindsey) of Concord and Carrington Cardwell Bass (Allen) of Gladys; his siblings, John Cardwell (Wendy) of Concord, Anne Scott Cardwell of Concord and Audrey Magdalene Cardwell of Lynchburg; his sister-in-law Tammy Cardwell; his mother-in-law Nancy Calohan of Rustburg; his grandchildren, Raven, Hailey, JaMia, Maggie, Waylon, Scarlett, Cash, Memphis and Larkyn; and his great grandchild Jayceon.
