She was predeceased by: her parents, Owen Walker Franklin and Iona Harper Franklin; her son James Thomas Steele III; and her siblings, Harold Franklin, Wilmoth Moore and Evelyn Caldwell.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Ann Steele of Concord, Wanda Kay Steele of Cary, NC, Michael Dwayne Steele of Concord and Gregory Scott Steele of Rustburg; and her siblings, Kathy Gunter and Alvan Franklin of Lynchburg. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
