He was predeceased by: his parents, James Samuel and Annie Lange Strum; and his wife Mary Power Strum. He is survived by: his children, David Thomas Strum (Carrie) and Kimberly Ann Nichols (Jared); his grandchildren, Jacob Nichols, Abigail Strum and James Nichols; and his siblings, William Strum, Phyllis Veal and Lawrence Strum (Margie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, Colonial Heights Chapel (2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory (2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834). A burial was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery (535 S Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA 23803).
