She was predeceased by: her parents, John Pennington and Hattie Pennington; her children, Emma Michelle Reich and Joseph Edward Blevins; and her siblings, Linda M. McElhanon and Vinton Ray Pennington.

She is survived by: her husband James "Jim" Blevins; her children, Karen Sue Atkins (Billy), Marcia Ann Brown and Scott Vinton Blevins; her brothers, James W. Pennington (Kathy) and Robert Wayne Pennington; and her sister-in-law Agnes Pennington. She is also survived by Thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
