It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Elisabeth Schanzenbacher of Colonial Heights, Virginia, born in Vancouver, British Columbia, who passed away on April 26, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Christian Michael Anker Michaelsen and Doris Olive Cullin Michaelsen. She is survived by: her husband George Walter Schanzenbacher; her daughters, Lisa Anne Vitalone (Britt) and Amy Lynne Peters (Jeffery); her grandsons, Benjamin Michael Peters, Jackson Marc Peters and Carter George Peters; her brother Erik Stanley Michaelsen; and her sister-in-law Marge Hilger (Art). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
