It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jewell Maxine Murphy of Colonial Heights, Virginia, born in Brodhead, Kentucky, who passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Pete Burke and Elizabeth Burke; her husband Jack; and her siblings, Bud, Ed, Paris, Jay, Pete Jr., Bobby, Glen, Rosa Lee, Ella May and Dorothy.
She is survived by: her sister Shirley Ann Smith of Crab Orchard, Kentucky; her sons, John (Sarah), Michael (Jo) and Anthony (Stephanie); her grandchildren, William (Bayley), Benjamin (Kylie), Nancy (Benny), Thomas (Catherine), Meredith Ray (Andrew) and Caroline; her siblings-in-law, Thomas Romanko (Ellen) of Florida and Nancy Murphy of New York; and her close friends, Cathi Pastore and Kathy Fite.
