He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenora Scruggs, and Boyd Edward Scruggs, Sr.. He is survived by: his brothers, Herbert, Earl and Paul Scruggs; his daughter Monica Belvin (James Baxter Belvin, Sr.); his wife Karla Budelman Scruggs; and his granddaughter Heidi Belvin Castle (James "J. R.").
