He was predeceased by: his children, Wallace Gordon Herndon Jr. and Lisa Dawn King; his parents, George Wesley Herndon, Sr. and Agnes Elizabeth Herndon; and his brothers, Michael Lee Herndon, Sr. (Trisha) and Ricky Joseph Herndon (Fran).
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Ann Herndon; his daughter Carrie Anne Herndon (Adam); his grandchildren, Rachel Herndon Rainey (Gregory), Caine Alexander Ingerski and Johnallen King, Jr.; his siblings, Wanda Patricia Grover (Larry), George Wesley Herndon, Jr. (Shirley), Robert Angus Herndon (Linda), William Patrick Herndon (Pam), Larry Wilson Herndon (Brenda), Randy Sherman Herndon (Pam), Claudia Lynn Stepp (Dean), Sherry K. Franklin (Al), Stephen Arnette Herndon, Sr. (Pam) and Gary Wayne Herndon (Suzanne); and his great grandchildren, Anniston and Leiland Rainey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg (10719 Courthouse Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407).
