He was predeceased by: his parents, McKinley Gusler and Nellie Sigmon Gusler; his wife Ruby Zelma Turner Gusler; his sons, Ronald Gusler and Wallace Gusler, Jr.; his granddaughter Ruby Gusler; and his siblings, Owen Gusler, Nick Gusler, Ella Carter Nash, Linda Spicer, Christine Ingram and Hattie Quesenberry.

He is survived by: his son Robert Gusler (Brandi) of Martinsville; his grandson David Gusler (Cindy) of Christiansburg; and his great grandchild Caroline Gusler. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Wallace's family request memorial contributions to: Fork Mountain United Methodist Church, Building Fund, care of Norman Powell, 149 Briar Ridge Road, Henry, VA 24102.
