He was predeceased by: his parents, Thaddeus Moss and LeVella Seaton; and his siblings, Eddie Morgan, John Seaton, Willie C. Seaton, Lewis Seaton, Carey Bracey, Della Tillman and Lucille Estimage.

He is survived by: his wife DeLois Dillard Seaton; his children, Markus Seaton of Martinsville, VA and Marcia Seaton-Martin (Floyd) of Bassett, VA; his grandchildren, Barak Martin of Bassett, VA, Bashir Martin of Bassett, VA and BiLanna Martin of Bassett, VA; his sisters, Pauline Henderson of Jackson, MS and Virgie Butler of Jackson, MS; and his goddaughter Yolanda Fultz-Morris (Alex) of Maryland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

I met him over 50 years ago when he started dating and ultimately married my then-sister-in-law Delois. Sammie was one of the kindest, most compassionate, most intelligent, and all-around good guys I had ever had the pleasure to meet. He was wholly devoted to his family and friends. His loss will be felt by all who knew and loved him. Rest in power, my good brother from another mother.”
