He is survived by: his wife JoAnne Shartzer Salmons; his children, Rebecca Nester (Kevin) of Danville, Joshua Salmons of Cascade, Anna Dodson (Chad) of Axton and Sarah Salmons of Roanoke; his stepgrandson Ben Dodson of Axton; his siblings, Joe Salmons (Pat) of Collinsville and Marie Slate (Larry) of Winston Salem; and his sister-in-law Pat Hayzlett (Bobby) of Martinsville.
