He was predeceased by: his parents, Thaddeus Eugene Jones and Bessie Mason Jones; and his sister Georgia Kasey. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Jones; his daughters, Angela Jones Bryant (Logan) and Jill Jones Hypes (Joshua); his grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Bryant; his brother David E. Jones of Moseley; and his close friends, Tootsie and Oreo.
