He was predeceased by: his siblings, Harry Lee, George Roy Washington and Mildred Keffer. He is survived by: his wife Betty Washington; his daughters, Dorothy Washington, Cathy Hughes of Annapolis, MD and Kimberly Richardson of Jacksonville, FL; and his sister Georgia Mae Earles of Bassett. He is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
