He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Gayle Ray and John Mitchell Gayle, Jr. (Donna); his grandchildren, Charlie Brandon Ray, John Mitchell Gayle III, Courtney Lynn Ray and Ryland Hunter Gayle; and his great grandchildren, Jeffery Austin Ray, Alayna Gayle Williams, Anthony Jackson Ray, Kyland Mitchell Gayle and Haven Lynn Gayle.
