She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Huston Bess and Mary Elizabeth Carter Bess; her husband Lawrence Monroe Duncan; her grandson Evan Duncan; her siblings, Kenneth, Jakie and Betty Green; and her siblings-in-law, Asa Duncan, Ethel Viers, Roxie Martin, Inez Vaught, Danie Mannon and Eula Farmer.

She is survived by: her sons, Earl Duncan (Paula) and Elden Duncan; her grandchildren, Tiffany Duncan, Elaina Richardson (John), Julieanna Stahlman (Caleb) and Aaron Duncan (Alayna); her great grandchildren, Eden and Marlowe Duncan; and her brother Jack Bess.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 125 English Road, Martinsville.
