He was predeceased by: his parents, Woody Gardner and Della Hollandsworth Gardner; and his brothers, Cecil, Larry and Maurice Gardner.
He is survived by: his wife Gay Michaels Gardner; his son Adam Gardner; his stepson Donald Hale; his daughter Roxie Gardner; his stepdaughter Karen Garrett; and his siblings, Ronald Gardner and Bonnie Gardner. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
