He was predeceased by: his parents, John Virgil Anthony, Jr. and Ethel Foster Anthony; his wife Josephine Hodges Anthony; his sons, D. Mark Anthony (Judy) and Larry Allen Anthony, Sr. (Kathy); and his brother Richard Myron Anthony.
He is survived by: his siblings, Clarence E. Anthony, Thomas A. Anthony, John Virgil Anthony, III, Charles G. Anthony, Sr., William Penn Anthony, Maxwell James Anthony, Elizabeth Anthony and Hallie Anthony Slagle; and his children, Paul John Anthony (Sherry) of Lynchburg and Linda Anthony Shelton (Mark) of Kernersville, NC. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.
