He was predeceased by: his parents, Geraldine Sanders Jacobson and Clarence Harold "Sandy" Sanders; his brother Michael William Sanders; his uncle Gerard Thomas Neely; and his close friend Todd Merriman.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Sanders and Gerard Sanders; his sister Christine Sanders; and the mothers of children, Donna Bouldin Sanders and Jeanne (Mike Hairfield). He is also survived by other friends and many cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service (3665 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at the Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery (3241 Stones Dairy Rd, Bassett, VA 24055).
