She was predeceased by: her parents, George Warren and Lena Hundley Warren; her husband Edward Clark Shires, Sr.; and her sisters, Marietta Smith and Mildred Richardson.

She is survived by: her son Edward C. Shires, Jr. (Kathleen) of Wilmington, NC; her siblings-in-law, Mary Ann Shires Gwyn (Roy) of Roanoke and Benjamin C. Shires (Betty) of Collinsville; her grandchildren, Scott Shires (Heather), Terri Toler (Brian), Lisa Albert, John Albert and Emilee Billeaud (Jody); and her great grandchildren, Faith, Emma, Chloe, Kaileigh, Josephine, Zoe and Emerson.
