Alton Prillaman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alton Prillaman (Collinsville, Virginia), who passed away on January 19, 2021 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alton Andrew and Lena Carter Prillaman; his brother Richard Prillaman; his grandson Samuel Tristan Pilson; his son-in-law Samuel Pilson; his wife Ruth; his daughters, Antholene Renee Prillaman (Hugh Meriwether) and Shawn Prillaman McCraw (Mark McCraw); his grandchildren, Caitlin Meriwether Prillaman and Andrew Wythe Prillaman Meriwether (Larkin Johnson); and his sisters, Helen McCullough (Doug McCullough), Nancy Hale and Judy Hundley. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Samuel and Tristan Pilson Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides a scholarship each year to a Bassett High School Senior who demonstrates a commitment to living a life of service.
