He was predeceased by: his brother D. J. Kern. He is survived by: his wife Betty J. Kern; his son Jordan H. Kern; his parents, Doug Kern and Gayle Kern; his sister Annette Naiper (Ralph) of Hazzard, KY; his nieces, Danielle Kern, Leigh Anne Kern and Isabella Casimirro of Port Orange, FL; his nephew John D. Handshoe; and his mother-in-law Anna Ruth Richardson.
