He is survived by: his son Joseph Powers of Huntsville, Alabama; his siblings, Betty Sturgill of Coeburn and Kyle Powers of Chesterfield, Virginia; and his half-sister Sharlett G. McClara. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
