With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carrol Dotson of Coeburn, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 28, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Dotson and Ada Dotson of Coeburn, Virginia.; his siblings, Roger Dotson, Homer Dotson, Ida Mae Dotson and Joyce Akers; and his children, Gary Dotson and Clarissa Boggs.
He is survived by: his wife Sadie Dotson; his children, Sherry Miller (Tony) of Wise, Charles Dotson (Diana) of Pound and Jess Dotson (Gabby) of South Carolina; and his siblings, Cline Dotson (Pat), Laura Pruitt (Tom), Dorothy Gaskey, Brenda Dotson and Lillian Osborne. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (1621 Norton Rd SW, Wise, VA 24293). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel (1621 Norton Rd SW, Wise, VA 24293). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at the Wise Cemetery (201 Church St NW, Wise, VA 24293).
