He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel B. Deel and Bula Ray Shull Deel; his son Luther Samuel Deel, Jr.; his siblings, Phyllis Deel, Imo Ann Mosley and Calvin Deel; and his pet Dixie.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Deel; his children, Cecilia Barton and Matt Deel (Shannon); his siblings, Helen Hodges and Daniel Deel (Sally); and also Charlie Gardner. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren.
