He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence Irby and Elizabeth Walker Irby; his siblings, Carroll Irby, Lynwood Irby, Ray Irby and Frances Roller; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Irby and Patsy Irby.

He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Conner Irby; his child Robin Yates (Mark Jeffrey Irby); his granddaughter Kathleen Sibley (Stephen Ryan Yates); his great grandchildren, James and Julia Sibley; his brother Kenneth Irby; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Irby, Janice Irby and Everett Roller.
