He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Whitt and Opal Mullins Whitt; his siblings, Stuart Whitt, Norma Bryant, Jerri Gayle Sturgill and Mary Ruth Fleming; and his half-brothers, Gurvis and Clyde Mullins.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Kaye Whitt of Pound; his children, Jamie Whitt (Teresa) of Wise and Angela Blankenship (Ted) of Coeburn; his brothers, Dewey Whitt (Jearline) of Pound and Ronnie Whitt (Barbara) of Jonesville; his half-sisters, Betty Belcher and Mildred Gibson of Pound; and his grandsons, Jason and Eric Blankenship.
