She was predeceased by: her parents, Harlan Deel and Alta Deel; her husband John "Junior" Yates; her former husband Matt Bowman; her close friend Kenny Ramsey; and her sisters, Ina Lee Rose and Jerlene Ratliff.
She is survived by: her son Jeff Yates (Ellen); her grandchildren, John Robert Yates (Danielle) and Amy Calhoun (Justin); her great grandchildren, Annabelle Yates, Isaac Yates, Hudson Calhoun and Emerson Calhoun; her sister Nell Fleming; and her brother-in-law Avery Ratliff. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Clintwood Funeral Home (202 McClure Ave, Clintwood, VA 24228). A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
