Jim Padian wrote a sympathy message

“I lived down the street from Norm and was a year ahead of him at GHS. A series of pencil sketches he did of me became the basis for the central male figure in his GHS mural. I remember him as a sensitive, kind, talented, and empathetic person. A fond memory from those days was taking the train to NYC with him and spending a day going to galleries in Greenwich Village. He could perceive things in pictures that others did not, and had the generosity and patience to explain what he saw. Jim Padian”
