She is survived by: her son Stephen A.; her daughter-in-law Karen H. Carter of Afton; her sisters, Lois Nicely of Clifton Forge, Barbara Evanko of Richmond and Ann Hancock of Lenoir, NC; her grandchildren, Meredith Carter of Afton, Madison K. Carter of Afton and Stephen C. Carter of Afton; and also Tonya Madison. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
