With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frederick Carter (Clifton Forge, Virginia), born in Selma, Virginia, who passed away on May 11, 2021 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Alonzo Carter and Lucy Jane Warlitner Carter; and his grandson Aaron Lee Rucker. He is survived by: his wife Judith Roymane Folks Carter of Selma; his daughters, Lucy Mays (Milton) of Clifton Forge, Anna Thomas (Bernie) of Eagle Rock and Judith Carter Nicely (David); his grandchildren, Matthew Mays (Courtney) of Clifton Forge, Chelsea Mays of Clifton Forge, Riley Mays of Clifton Forge and Dustin Russell (Megan); his great grandchildren, Eli and Savannah of Rustburg; his niece Barbara Rose of Pasadena, MD; and his nephew Andrew Reynolds of Covington.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Selma Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 124, Selma, VA 24474.
