It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Allen Showers (Clifton Forge, Virginia), born in San Diego, California, who passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Douglas and Barbara Jeanette Sutton Showers; his daughter Jessica Showers; and his siblings, April Jeannette "Jeannie" Showers, Carol Lynn Showers and Jimmy Edward Showers.
He is survived by: his children, Tina Adkins (Lionel) of Murfreesboro, TN, Cody "Allen" Showers (Christina) of Fishersville, Chopper Showers (Lisa) of Bridgewater and Joshua Showers of Mount Crawford; his siblings, Connie Snow and Dallas A. Showers (Wendy); his grandchildren, Lucas, Noah, Erica, Shana, Logan, Bryceton, Elyssa, Ragin, Cameron, Dae and Destanee; his caregiver Donna Harrelson; and his close friend Keith Loker. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; Cody's mother-in-law.
