He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilber Nicely and Ida Conner Nicely; his former wife Mary Viola Eubank Nicely; his wife Doris Nicely; his grandson Christopher Freels; and his siblings, Alvin Nicely, Ashby Nicely, Arlie Nicely, Harold Nicely, Dilbert Nicely, Aredena Hetler, Marie Lacey and Almedia Ray.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Elbon (Doug) of Middleburg, FL, Donna Freels (Jerry) of Rich Patch and Diane Hanna (David) of Marion; his stepchildren, Pamela Long Lipes of Buena Vista, William Henry Long, Jr. of Fincastle and Christopher Lee Long of Clifton Forge; his grandchildren, Priscilla Wetzel, David Elbon, Candice Stevens, Krystal Tuono and Brock Hanna; his stepgrandchildren, Steve Lipes, Joseph Lipes, Andrew Long, Meagan Long and William Lipes; and his nephews, Ricky and Robbie Bates. He is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
