He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Matthew Vess and Joyce Alice Nicely Vess; his wife Dianne Lynn Conner Vess; and his siblings, Marion Vess and Betty Jean Brown.
He is survived by: his son David Yee (Janet) of North Carolina; his grandchildren, David Yee (Rebecca Jerge) of Woodbridge, Trinity Yee of North Carolina and Kyle Yee of North Carolina; his stepgrandchildren, Joseph Kitt of North Carolina, Samantha Kitta of North Carolina and Sharlotte Kitta of North Carolina; his great grandchild Nora Yee of Woodbridge; and his siblings, Mary Campbell (Bill) of Low Moor, Steve Vess (Becky) of Iron Gate, Dennis Vess (Diane) of Covington and Dale Vess (Betty Coleman) of Covington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home (405 Alleghany St, Clifton Forge, VA 24422).
