He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Milton and Leona Pearl Kimberlin Lavender; and his siblings, Margaret Ann Lavender, Myrtle Brinkley, Lewis and Bill.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Lorene Martini Lavender of Clifton Forge; his daughters, Melissa Lavender Groves (Todd Tyree) of Clifton Forge and Penny Lavender Hiner of Covington; his stepdaughters, Regina Mulligan (Keith) of High Point, NC, Connie Green (Richard) of Greensboro, NC and Linda Smallwood (Chris) of Greensboro, NC; his brother Paul Lavender of Covington; his grandchildren, Sara Booze, Jerrod Groves, Rachel Groves and Caleb Hiner; his stepgrandchildren, Richard Green, Jr., Josh Greene and McKenna Smallwood; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Payton Greene, Connor Greene, Mya Stoner, Madison Stoner, Aiden Greene and Adalynn Greene.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Life House (601 Granville Ave, Clifton Forge, VA 24422).
