We are sad to announce that on July 7, 2020, at the age of 78, Charlotte Rose (Clifton Forge, Virginia), born in Clifton, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ivan Lee Painter and Elsie Clark Painter Goodwin; her son Russell Smithers, Jr.; and her sisters, Doris Long Nicely and Carol Blaker.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Rose of Clifton Forge; her children, Robin Spears (Allen) of Abingdon, MD, Randall Smithers (Brenda) of Selma and Roxanne Smithers Nicely (Tony) of Clifton Forge; her brother Daniel Goodwin (Sue) of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Sarah Duplan (Bernard) of Robert Spears, II, Laura Spears, Deanna Smithers, Russell Smithers, Cary Tichenor (Heather), Sara Tichenor, Miranda Kimberlin, Rachel Smithers, Avery Smithers, Katelynne Nicely and Alexander Nicely (Hollie); her great grandchildren, Caleb, Connor, Ruby, Nora, Corinne, Isla and Cameron; and her aunt Barbara Hoke. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; and her special little dog.
The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Oak Hill Bible Church, 1601 Chestnut Street, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
