It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Walthall (Clifton Forge, Virginia), born in Glen, West Virginia, who passed away on May 12, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Phillips and Harriett Shanklin Phillips; her husband Marshall Edward Walthall; and her daughter Kim Hipes. She is survived by: her children, Pam Crance (Linnie) of Clifton Forge, Sharon Walthall of Clifton Forge and Phillip Walthall (Gaye) of Vincennes, IN; her son-in-law David Hipes of Clifton Forge; her siblings, Peggy Ballengee of Alderson, WV, Harriett "Cookie" Brown (Richard) of Caldwell, WV and Billy Jo Phillips (Ann) of Alderson, WV; her grandchildren, Drew Hipes (Ashley), Emily Hipes, Jessika Crance, Tyler Crance (Ashlie), Sarah Crance, Bailey Walthall and Mackenzie Walthall; and her great grandchildren, Hunter Barron, Hannah Hipes, Hallie Hipes, Abigail Riley and Bryson Hipes. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; and a special dog.
