He was predeceased by: his parents, Denning Levoy High and Wessie Lillian Nealey High; his son James High Jr.; and his father-in-law Charles Cecil Scogins. He is survived by: his daughter Ginger Jarrells (Bobby); his grandchildren, Daniel Jarrells, Blake Jarrells, Wyatt Jarrells, Isaac High, Tara Potts (J. C.), Shanna High, Cody High (Chelsea) and Kayla Pelkey; his great grandchildren, Levi Bayne, Raelynn Jarrells, Lauryn Alison, Kayleigh High, Waylon Potts, Nancy Howard and Shirley Buracker; and his mother-in-law Martha Scogins Schmidt (Tommy). He is also survived by one brother; several sisters.
