He is survived by: his wife Carol Koch Dempsey; his son Shane Dempsey of Clarksville; and his siblings, Moira Dempsey of Clarksville, Jennifer Patterson of Lynchburg, Paul Dempsey of Lynchburg, Dan Dempsey of Clarksville and Ross Dempsey of Lynchburg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
